The membership platform where members pay for access
Built-in subscriptions. Members pay, you manage.
Groupanda is a membership platform where members pay, monthly or once, to join a group or to open its paid channels. You offer up to 5 plans, each plan opens its channels, and free channels stay open to every member. Members buy in the browser, and when a subscription's payments stop, access ends with the paid period.
How do members pay for access in Groupanda?
Each plan is a monthly subscription or a one-time payment with no renewal date. You can offer up to 5 plans side by side, and each plan opens the channels you assign to it. Members choose a plan and pay through Stripe in the browser.

Monthly subscription or one-time payment
A monthly subscription renews every month. A one-time payment never renews, and the access it gives has no set end date.
Free joining, or joining with a plan
When you create the group, you choose whether joining is free, free with paid plans, or possible only by buying a plan. If joining requires a plan and the group needs your approval, a member pays after you accept them.
Bought in the browser
Members buy a plan in the browser, in the Groupanda web app. The iOS and Android apps show your plans and prices, and send members to the browser to buy.
Paid through Stripe
Members pay on Stripe Checkout, and card details are entered on Stripe. Groupanda never receives them.
One currency per group
Your group charges in one currency, which you choose with your first plan, out of 11.
Invoices with a subscription
A subscription comes with invoices, issued by Stripe on your Stripe account. A one-time payment comes without an invoice.

What does each plan open?
Each plan opens the channels you assign to it. In a group with plans, every channel is open to every member, limited to one or more of your plans, or Admins only.
Channels open to every member
A free channel is open to every member, whether they pay or not. A group with plans always keeps at least one.
Channels limited to the plans you choose
Members on those plans read the channel. You and your admins read every channel in the group.
A lock for everyone else
Members without one of those plans see the channel's name with a lock. Only those with access see the messages inside.
Admins only
A channel with no plan and no access for everyone is Admins only. You and your admins read it.
Plans add up
A member can hold several one-time plans and one subscription. They get the channels of every plan they hold.

When does a member's access end?
Access to a plan's channels opens with the payment. Groupanda switches it on and off with the payment, with no step for you. When it ends depends on the kind of plan, and a full refund or a ban ends it for either kind.
Monthly subscription
Access lasts while the payments continue. When they stop, access ends at the end of the paid period, with no grace period.
One-time payment
Access has no set end date, because nothing renews. A full refund or a ban ends it.
Full refund
A full refund ends the access that the refunded payment gave.
Ban
You or an admin can ban a member, and only you can ban an admin. A ban ends the membership at once, stops the person from rejoining and cancels their subscription in your group.
Where does the money go, and what does Groupanda keep?
Payments go to the Stripe account you set up as the group owner. Stripe pays out on its own schedule. On their statement, members see the name set in that Stripe account, not Groupanda's.
Your balance
Groupanda shows your Stripe balance: what is available and what is still pending.
Withdraw funds
The Withdraw funds button opens your Stripe Express dashboard. The payout itself happens in Stripe.
Members on each plan
Next to each plan, you see how many members are on it.
Full history in Stripe
The full history of payments and payouts is in your Stripe dashboard, not in Groupanda.
For each plan, the member pays the price you set. Out of that payment, Groupanda keeps a 6% platform fee. Stripe's processing fee is deducted from your payout. Nothing is added on top of what the member pays. Stripe Connect pays out to the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Norway, Liechtenstein, Canada, and Switzerland. Groupanda charges no monthly fee and no fee per member. Using Groupanda is free, with no member limit and no time limit, and you need no card to start. The 6% platform fee applies only when members buy a plan.
You can set up your group in minutes. Members can start paying once Stripe has verified your Stripe account.
What can't Groupanda subscriptions do?
Check these before you pick membership platform software for your group.
- No annual billing. Each plan is a monthly subscription or a one-time payment.
- No free trials, discount codes or discounts. Every plan costs more than zero.
- No way to give a member a plan by hand. A member gets a plan by paying for it.
- No view of individual payments or payment history in Groupanda. You see your balance and how many members are on each plan, and the full history is in your Stripe dashboard.
- Groupanda sends members no emails about failed payments, refunds or ended subscriptions.
- No purchase in the mobile apps. Members can't buy a plan in the iOS or Android app, and the apps send them to the browser.
